Travel during the coronavirus pandemic – being fully vaccinated is required

What are the restrictions? What do you need to be able to travel safely between European countries or from a third country to Europe?

You’ll find all the necessary and most recent information on the official website of the European Union.

Safe travel between European countries: the commission has launched initiatives to help you travel safely accross Europe.

The EU Digital COVID Certificate will facilitate safe free movement of citizens in the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is advisable to consult the governmental website of your country of origin for the latest updates on measures that may be adapted when you re-enter your country.

Re-open EU provides information on the various measures in place, including on quarantine and testing requirements when you travel within Europe. The information is updated frequently and available in 24 languages.

Keep in mind that you need to be fully vaccinated to travel to Belgium.

Another interesting link: European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control

The site is up to date and here you can also find the map of Europe with the Covid color code for each country.

People traveling by plain, arriving in Brussels national airport will also need to fill in a Public Health Passenger Locator Form (PLF). You will need to fill in the PLF in the 48 hours before your arrival in Belgium. The PLF is mandatory!

This is the link to fill in the PLF online:

Arriving by car?

Reserving a parking space at the hotel in advance does not appear to be possible after all. They apply the first in, first served principle. However, the hotel has a large parking capacity and could assure that there would be enough parking spaces available. The cost of the parking is covered by KI-E, so you don’t need to pay for your parking when checking of the hotel.

Traveling by airplane?

Shuttles are not organized for this event. As public transport is not really an option (the nearest busstop is about 900m from the hotel) you can take a taxi at the airport. For your travel back to the airport you can ask at the hotel reception to order a taxi. We advise you to  leave the hotel about 2  hours before your flight departure time. Some of you may share a taxi at arrival and departure. Have a look at the travel schedule.

Traveling by train?

Please take a taxi for your travel between the trainstation and the hotel.
