Travelling by car?

Note:

The vehicles that are allowed to drive are determined by the European standard. It can be recognized by the number plate. There is no vignette system in the Netherlands.

Since November 2020, Amsterdam has had a green environmental zone for diesel passenger cars. Diesel cars are only allowed to enter the environmental zone if they have emission class 4 or higher. Passenger cars with a diesel engine and an emission class 3 or lower are no longer allowed.  So if your diesel car has emission standard (EURO) 4 or higher (built in 2006 or later) then your car has unlimited access.

  • Cars that do not run on diesel are welcome in the environmental zone.
  • If your vehicle meets the Amsterdam environmental zone requirements, you do not need to register your vehicle (as is the case in some other countries).

The hotel does not accept parking reservations. The number of parking spaces that we require are communicated to the hotel, and they ensure that there is sufficient parking space available.

Since parking reservation is not possible, this means that the parking costs will have to be paid when you check out of the hotel. These costs can of course be reclaimed after the event via the expense sheet.
